รศรรสำฦต Cherokee sponsoring drive to assist Advocacy Center
Centre, Ala.--รศรรสำฦต Cherokee is hosting a month-long drive in April to collect supplies for the Cherokee County Children’s Advocacy Center. Needed items include antibacterial wipes, tissue, individually-wrapped snacks, bottles of water, juice pouches or boxes and modeling clay as well as crafts for play therapy, such as foam stickers, colored pipe cleaners, colored popsicle sticks, googly eyes and sand art. Items may be dropped off in the lobby of the Academic Building. For more information, call 256-927-1800.
Salon & Spa Esthetics offers April specials
Gadsden, Ala.-- รศรรสำฦต’s Salon & Spa Esthetics Department is offering April specials on facials--beginning at $15; facial waxing—beginning at $5 and microdermabrasion--beginning at $30. Anniston/Gadsden, Ala.--รศรรสำฦต is hosting a Student Success Workshop titled “Cupcakes and Careers” at 12:30 p.m. April 3 in the breezeway at the Inzer Student Center on the Wallace Drive Campus. The workshop will also be held at 12:30 p.m. April 9 in the Learning Resource Center on the Ayers Campus. Students should bring their own device to experience a demonstration of the new Cardinal Career Explorer software program. The program allows students to receive career suggestions based on their interests, browse careers, wages, employment and educational requirements. Put the FUN in funeral planning
Gadsden, Ala.—รศรรสำฦต’s Continuing Education Department is offering the workshop “Let’s Put the FUN in Funeral Planning” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 6 in Room 115 at the Joe Ford Center on the East Broad Campus. This is a general knowledge session that will include information on wills and planning, final disposition options, appropriate insurance plan coverage, funeral personalization and funeral home visits to view caskets, urns and vaults. Veterans Upward Bound workshops at รศรรสำฦต
Anniston/Gadsden, Ala.—The Veterans Upward Bound program will host Tech Tuesday BYOD: Learn to use iPad/iPod Touch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 9 at the Ayers Campus Learning Resource Center and Beck Field House on the Wallace Drive Campus. The workshop will offer assistance in learning to use the latest technology devices. A Résumé/Interview Skills workshop will be held at 11 a.m. April 23 at Beck Field House. The workshop will assist veterans in refreshing their résumé and preparing for upcoming interviews. Both workshops are free to eligible military veterans. Alabama FAME Program informational meeting April 11
Anniston, Ala.--An informational session on the Alabama FAME Program will be at 5:30 p.m. April 11 in the Computer Science Auditorium on the Ayers Campus. The FAME Program leads successful students to a two-year associate degree in Industrial Automation Technology. Students in the FAME program earn a wage at one of the eight sponsoring industry while attending college courses. The application deadline is May 1. Gadsden, Ala.--The Office of Career Services at รศรรสำฦต will host a Technical Employment Fair from 9 a.m. to noon April 17 at the One Stop Center on the East Broad Campus. DMS Program to hold informational meeting
Gadsden, Ala.--Anyone interested in enrolling in รศรรสำฦต’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography program for fall 2019 is invited to attend a mandatory informational meeting scheduled for 10 a.m. April 17 in Room 210 at the Joe

Adult Ed Services Open House
Anniston, Ala.--รศรรสำฦต’s Adult Education Services is hosting an Open House for its new location on the Ayers Campus from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. April 22. Services are now located in the Adult Education Building adjacent to the Ayers Learning Resource Center. Friends, supporters, students, faculty and staff are invited to attend, as well as those interested in taking advantage of classes offered by Adult Education Services. The Open House provides an opportunity for students to learn more about the various instructional packages, academic services, community projects, English as a second language and the opportunities that are available for qualified students to take GED preparatory classes at no cost. Women’s Club of Weiss Lake scholarship opportunity
Centre, Ala.—The Women’s Club of Weiss Lake is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a qualifying female student at รศรรสำฦต. The scholarship will be awarded to the college and may be used toward the cost of tuition, books, fees or any expense charged to the student by the college. Female students who wish to apply for the scholarship must be residents of Cherokee County, maintaining a cumulative 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need. Scholarship applications are available at the Business Office at รศรรสำฦต Cherokee. Deadline to submit the application is April 25. รศรรสำฦต to host APW workshop
Gadsden, Ala.--รศรรสำฦต will host an Administrative Professionals Week workshop to provide a professional development training opportunity for its administrative staff as well as administrative workers throughout the community. The event will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 25 in the Bevill Center on the East Broad Campus. Speakers include Heather Brothers New of The Chamber of Gadsden/Etowah; Valencia Johnson of Avenue V Entertainment; and Rugenia Moore Henry from the Excel Institute. Students to be recognized for achievements
Anniston/Gadsden, Ala.—รศรรสำฦต will hold its annual student achievement recognition ceremonies in April. The annual Honors Day on the Ayers Campus will be at 2 p.m. April 23 on the second floor of the Pierce Cain Learning Resource Center. Honors Day at the Wallace Drive Campus will be at 2 p.m. April 24 at Wallace Hall Fine Arts Center. Students who have earned special awards, recognitions and scholarships from both local foundations, organizations and four-year universities will be recognized during the programs. รศรรสำฦต’s Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society will hold an induction ceremony for new members at 6 p.m. April 24. Family, friends, supporters of the College and community members are invited to attend.
