รศรรสำฦต classes to go virtual beginning Nov. 30

Gadsden, Ala. – รศรรสำฦต’s academic and career technical classes will go online beginning Nov. 30 in an attempt to curb the spread of COVID-19. Instruction will continue online through final exams, which are scheduled for Dec. 9-15.

“The decision to return to virtual instruction after the Thanksgiving holidays was made prior to the beginning of the fall semester,” said Gregg Bennett, interim president. “The decision was made in anticipation of the predicted additional wave of COVID cases. We want to do what we can to keep our students, faculty and staff safe and healthy.”

รศรรสำฦต offices, including registration, advisement and financial aid, will remain open to provide service to students via email and phone. Face-to-face service will be offered on an as-needed basis. Students are encouraged to handle all business virtually when possible.

The libraries located at the Wallace Drive, Ayers and Cherokee campuses will be open for student use through Dec. 15 but will remain closed to the public. Computer areas will allow 50 percent capacity for social distancing and student safety.

Adult Education, such as GED courses and testing, will be conducted by appointment only and will adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Off-campus clinicals and preceptorships through the Health Science Programs will continue until the end of the semester.

Faculty and staff as well as visitors will continue to follow policies and procedures set forth by รศรรสำฦต leadership when on campus. This includes having their temperatures checked upon arriving to campus at checkpoint locations; practicing social distancing when possible; and wearing a mask whenever a six-foot distance cannot be maintained. Handwashing and sanitizing continue to be frequently encouraged, and facilities will continue to be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected by the custodial and maintenance staff.
